ShapeMag Update: December

Hi to all of our readers,

The past month has certainly tested us all in ways we never thought possible and, at least for the next month it appears those tests are not going to ease off. Yes, the lockdown ends as of 2nd December only to enter the new Tier 3 restrictions which, let's be honest, is not a great improvement.

During November, as the pubs, clubs and restaurants closed, it was necessary to temporarily close the magazine, basically because there was nowhere for our prints to go. Unfortunately, and it breaks my heart to say this, this also now applies to our Christmas edition as it stands. We rely on our venues to circulate the magazine and without them, we are quite literally nothing. If things should change, we will change too.

The good news is, we are going nowhere. As soon as the pubs open, we will be back. I have plenty of great articles that have been submitted to me during the quiet days and every one will feature in our printed pages. I also ask, please keep sending them in. For those hoping to get articles in before Christmas, all I can do is apologise but as you are all aware, we are all being affected by current events. Please hang in there.

So let's look forward to the re-opening, fingers crossed for the last time. With the promise of Vaccines I am hoping that we are looking at a very bright 2021, especially the summer season. To all you musicians out there, keep practicing, keep writing and keep smiling. This WILL end and you WILL be back. Just keep the faith.

So all that's left to say is please enjoy the Festive Season as best as you can. It's not the Christmas we wanted but it is the Christmas we have. Let's do what we can to make the most of it and come out the other side ready to take on the new year. Remember, the light is shining at the end of the tunnel, we just need to keep walking towards it.

God bless all and a very merry Christmas.
